A little newborn baby boy has been found dead in a drain in Alexander Heights recently (August 2025).

The little boy did not die a violent death and it is not clear whether he was dead when placed in the drain. He was found by two tradesmen doing work in the area.

The mother has been found and she is cooperating with police.

The little boy was not given a name but he was found wrapped in a sheet so there was at least some respect paid to him. The Right to Life Association of WA chooses to call him Zachariah, a Hebrew name that means ‘God will remember you’.

It is a terrible thing to happen and our hearts go out to all involved. Only a very callous individual would not be moved by such a tragedy.

The Right to Life Association of WA hopes his mother gets all the help she needs. Not surprisingly in this era, no mention is made of the little boy’s father. We hope he is also given the help he needs.

The whole community mourn for little Zachariah, and rightly so. Our Premier Roger Cook was moved enough to describe it as a tragedy.

On the other hand, it is incredibly hypocritical that little Zachariah could have been killed in his mother’s womb just a few short days earlier and nobody would have been charged with anything and our community would not have been expected to mourn his passing. He would have been thrown out with the medical waste, his existence would not have been recorded in any way and in fact his mother could have been financially compensated for her abortion. So much for the compassion of our politicians who make up the evil legislation that governs our lives.
